Judge Rashid Santiago's education, experience, and knowledge of the law have prepared him to be the next Judge of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas. As a Magisterial District Judge (MDJ) elected for his second term, he has presided over thousands of cases. Santiago's judicial temperament is demonstrated on a daily basis. In addition, he has ample experience managing a courtroom and rendering judicial rulings.
In his current position, Judge Santiago presides over preliminary hearings in misdemeanor and felony cases and bench trials in summary cases. In addition, he approves the issuance of search warrants, arrest warrants, and emergency PFA orders. He also conducts preliminary arraignments whereby bail is set in criminal matters. Santiago also presides over Civil and Landlord-Tenant matters.
Judge Santiago is eager to continue to serve the judiciary and the people of Lehigh County.
Judge Santiago has presided over thousands of cases and has proven his judicial temperament and ability to manage a courtroom. It would be a seamless transition from the District Court into the Court of Common Pleas.
